Our budget range of mobile steps is still just as heavy duty as our standard ladder range. The structure is identical, we have simply removed a few features to lower the cost. The small front wheels and lever brake have been replaced with simple “wheel barrow” style handles to move the steps around. The kick plate around the top platform has also been removed.
This range of budget mobile steps is ideal for sporadic and occasional use, eg accessing archive files, periodic plant inspection, or changing light bulbs! If intended for regular use in a warehouse, your staff won’t appreciate the repeated lifting to move them, especially on the bigger mobile steps!
The mobile ladder is fitted with our industrial hi-grip step as standard and safety operating sticker.

The narrow aisle mobile steps are based on our standard heavy duty range of steps - still with all the strength, but they don’t have the wider rear axle. On the standard steps, the wheels on the rear axle protrude beyond the steps for stability. These narrow aisle steps have the wheels mounted under the framework of the steps, which means they are suitable for racking with narrow aisles (clever name eh!) or tight spaces.

Note though, that they should not be used in open spaces as they are not as stable if the operative is leaning out. In order to improve stability, all our narrow aisle mobile steps have tapering sides so the user is forced to stand over the centre line.

The top platform width of the steps is always 400mm. The steps are also fitted with an internal brake system as opposed to the side mounted lever to save space.

Our standard range sports 2 fixed castors at the rear end and 2 swivel castors at the front. These swivel castors can be raised so the steps frame bottoms out on the ground. The handle mechanism is mounted within the body of the mobile steps helping to keep the steps narrow.

The mobile ladder is fitted with our industrial hi-grip step as standard, also a 100mm kick-plate and safety operating sticker.

This range of steps, our Easy Slope Range, has a slope angle of 45 degrees, and a comfortable step increment of 200mm. This allows users to descend facing forwards while carrying boxes.

The platform height from the ground of this ladder is 800mm.

When mobile steps are used in lorry parks and in a loading bay environment, they are liable to constant use and often moved and knocked with forklifts. We have made our heavy duty access ladder from a substantial 40x40x3mm box section and, like all our mobile step range, are a fully welded one piece construction.

The angle of the steps is 45 degrees, an easy slope step, which allows the user to walk down forward facing. The treads are our hi-grip steel treads offering excellent grip in in wet oily conditions.

This 6 step mobile ladder has a platform height of 1250mm and is fitted with 2 substantial 200mm nylon wheels and 2 smaller 100mm diameter wheels housed in swivel castors allowing easy movement. On the side of the steps is mounted a brake lever which disengages the smaller wheels when in use allowing a safe stable platform for the steps. This mobile unloading platform is designed and manufactured to enable the safe unloading of shipping containers, lorries and trailers, or indeed anything else you want! We manufacture these platforms here in our factory in Kettering and they are built to order. We have endeavoured to find a simple and common design to suit most applications, with an array of optional extras for enhanced performance of the platform. That being said, if you want some changes to the access platform, maybe a minor platform height change, or maybe a completely re-designed platform layout, please contact us to discuss - we can manufacture most things!

The platform framework is manufactured from sturdy 50x50x3mm structural box section throughout and the platform deck is formed from 3mm steel chequer plate. There is a rung ladder to one side with handrails to allow access onto the platform. Chains are fitted as standard to the lorry platform across all access openings to offer a form of access control. The mobile platform sits on 4 off 125mm dia nylon wheels housed in swivel and brake castors, offering the platform a load capacity of 800kg static loading. Each platform has a label clearing showing the Safe Working Load, serial number and date of manufacture.

The platform is in an acrylic painted finished as standard, Blue RAL 5010. Galvanised finish is available as an optional extra. This trailer unloading platform was originally designed for shipping containers. When the doors are initially opened, the container is full to the roof and there is no space on the deck to stand to start unloading. This platform offers a stage to stand on and place a pallet to stack onto. This ensures employees are safe and have a barrier around them while working at height on a platform. Once a couple of pallets have been removed, the platform may be removed and a more traditional method with a pallet truck used. That's down to your work method and risk assessments.

When not in use, the folding gates fold up and lock shut against the access step side frames. To use the step, simply roll the step to the rear of the lorry, engage brake lever and then simply lift up and swing out the gates into position.
