Hard white European foam compounding pad, hook and loop fitted with a protective collar to prevent the backing plate coming into contact with the paintwork. The collar performs 2 important functions, it will prevent the backing plate getting fitted to the pad off centre and causing the tool and pad to vibrate badly and will prevent the backing plate from digging into the paintwork if the pad is tilted at an angle.
