Transponder chips are the part of the key that connect with the immobiliser and are often either carbon or glass.
They can either be built onto the PCB (On-Board) or housed separately in the key (Off-Board) .
Transponder chips work by forming a handshake between the vehicle key and the vehicle itself via an aerial near the ignition barrel.
