Double-Ended Tang-Grip Blade for Parting and Grooving

TAG insert features:
Very rigid clamping in a tangentially oriented pocket. Enables machining at very high feed rates and provides excellent straightness and surface finish. Recommended for parting large diameter parts and for interrupted cuts. Offers a free, unobstructed chip flow, since there is no upper jaw as in the other clamping systems (very important in deep grooving and parting applications). The combination of tangential clamping and free chip flow results in improved tool and insert lifetime. Provides a solution to the problem of inserts being pulled out during retraction.

Grade Description: 
IC808 (ISO P15-P30, M20-M30, H10-H20, S15-S25) A hard, fine grain substrate with excellent chipping resistance, combined with a new ‘SUMO TEC’ TiAlN PVD coating. Provides high wear resistance. Recommended for a very wide range of materials.

ISCAR Tang-Grip? has the following features:

? Enables machining at high feed rates and provides excellent straightness and surface finish.
? Provides a solution to the problem of inserts being pulled out during retraction. Has a solid stopper, unlike the friction retaining force in the current systems. (Especially important on machines with a bar feeder or sub spindles.)
? In the SELF-GRIP? system the machining forces are exerted on a very short stopper, while in the TANG-GRIP system, machining forces are supported by a long and rigid rear wall. Pocket wear, which occurs during machining and insert indexing in the SELF-GRIP? system, causes a reduction in the clamping force. This does not happen with the new TANG-GRIP? system.
? The TANG-GRIP? system provides very accurate grooving repeatability.
? The combination of tangential clamping and free chip flow results in improved tool and pocket life. 
? Offers a free, unobstructed chip flow. This is very important in deep grooving, since there is no upper jaw to interfere as in the other clamping systems.

Iscar TGSU 35 TANG-GRIP Parting and Grooving Blades deliver the following benefits:

There is no chip obstruction when applying variable machining conditions. 
The free chip flow provides excellent surface finish and increases the blade?s tool life. 
The new blade is now taller and the insert is better supported resulting in a more rigid design compared to the current blade. 
It features higher rigidity and is capable of bearing heavier insert loads (higher feed). As the new blade is taller and longer, it can be used for deeper parting and grooving applications. The new design reduces blade vibrations when using a long overhang and improves part straightness.
Block Features
The new block is similar to ISCAR?s existing SGTBu blocks aside from the centre height dimension. The new block can carry blades which are 2 to 7mm in width.

Competitor?s blades cannot be used on this new block.
