The Planet Centre Locator can accurately find the edge of your workpiece in a milling machine. Two types are available with probes made of nonmagnetic aluminium-bronze. This enables the tool to work very accurately even when the workpiece is magnetised. For example, when the work is being held in a magnetic chuck, traditional steel probes will 'run off' too early.

The Spherical probe is ideal for use on flat vertical surfaces. The Cylindrical probe for use on round work.

The probes are 5mm Diameter. Accurate to better than .001” and repeatable to better than .0005”. Made in the UK by Planet.

The Planet Drill Press Hold Down can be used on a Drill Press or a Work Bench. Simply mount the press on your workbench and tighten the nut on the shaft.The clamping section can move up and down the shaft for major adjustments, then the lever pushes the clamping pad on the workpiece. Its very easy to use and to keep things accurate. Ideal for production runs of workpieces as the clamping section will stay at its set height on the shaft without dropping down.

This hold-down can be mounted in a blind hole by using the adapter kit (DPHDKIT).

Planet Drill Press Hold Down

This product is an Adapter Kit to convert the Planet drill press hold down to be mounted in blind holes, such as in a thick workbench.

First, drill a 3/4" hole where you need the hold down mounted. Then, put the non-threaded piece, followed by the threaded piece, on the shaft. Finally, slide the shaft and adapters in the whole and turn the shaft clockwise to tighten.
