Cuts power automatically if an imbalance is detected between live and neutral (caused by leakage to earth). In the event of general power failure the RCD will not automatically reset meaning anything plugged into it will not automatically restart. No wiring required plugs straight into 13A socket. No need to remove from socket to reset unit.
